HOURS OF OPERATION & RATES

Spring/Summer Hours*
All facilities are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
 

Troy Transfer Station, 991 Coolidge (Trash & Yard Waste)
(between 14 & 15 Mile Roads - across from Meijer)
7 a.m. to 6 p.m. M-F; 7 a.m. to 2:00 Sat
Trash - $60/ton; $35 (minimum charge)
Yard Waste - $54/ton; $35 (minimum charge)
Payment by cash or check only (must have valid Michigan driver's license)

Scrap metal can be dropped off for free.
Appliances accepted for free as long as "Freon has been removed sticker" is on item.
Fee for Freon Removal - $20

Residents of SOCRRA's member municipalities can bring in bags of leaves (or brush bundles)
over winter months only, for composting, at no charge. 
(Program ended April 5, 2008. Check back in late fall for winter start up date.)

SOCRRA Recycling Drop-Off Center, 995 Coolidge

7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. M-F; 7 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sat

No charge for drop-off of recyclables.
Items that can be placed in your curbside bin can also be brought to the Drop-off Center,
as well as the following items that cannot be placed in the curbside bin
(hardcover books, large batteries (boat, car, golf cart, etc.),
plastic bags (clean, dry, no handles), CDs, DVDs, cassette & VHS tapes).

No charge for drop-off of clothes, shoes, toys and blankets (in blue "IICD" bins)
Free paper shredding available

Government offices in any of the member municipalities** can make appointments to bring in their computers (but no other electronics).

Hours - 8-4 M-F; 8-Noon Sat
Free screened & cured garden compost humus is available every Saturday
in April-September of 2008
Shovel all you want to free or we'll load a pickup, trailer or truck for $15.
