SOCRRA Winter 2023 Newsletter

Seasonal End to Yard Waste Curbside Collection

This is the last week of curbside yard waste pick-up in 2023. Starting on December 18, SOCRRA’s Recycling Drop-off Site will happily receive yard waste from residents. Bring up to 10 bags per day with no appointment required, but don't forget to show proof of residency. Only yard waste will be accepted. Curbside collection will resume in April 2024.

Green for the Holidays: Recycling Tips

Remember to recycle this holiday season! Refer to SOCRRA's holiday recycling guides for both curbside and drop-off recycling. Make sure you’re disposing of items such as holiday lights, bags, and decorations correctly. Use the FREE Waste Wizard tool if there’s another item you’re unsure how to dispose of.

Wishing you a joyful and eco-friendly holiday season!

Holiday Season Collection

The upcoming holidays will bring delays to curbside collection services. When a holiday falls on a weekday, collection for that week will be pushed back by one day, including Friday collections, which will take place on Saturday.

Key Upcoming Dates:

Christmas - Monday, Dec 25
New Year’s Day - Monday, Jan 1

Holiday Boxes: Flatten, Cut, and Recycle Right!

Prevent a buildup of holiday gift boxes by flattening, cutting them to size, and placing them in your recycling bin. Remember, all recyclables should be placed in your recycling cart; cardboard boxes left outside the cart will be collected as trash. Remove and dispose of packing materials properly using our Waste Wizard tool.

The FREE Waste Wizard Tool

The Waste Wizard is SOCRRA’s digital tool which provides residents guidance on disposal and recycling. The tool is free and available on SOCRRA’s website or as a free mobile app. Check it out!
