Electronics Recycling Drop-off

Electronic items require special handling and should not be disposed of in regular trash.

This service is available ONLY to residents (not for businesses) of SOCRRA member communities as well as residents of Bingham Farms, City of Bloomfield Hills, Franklin, Rochester, and Rochester Hills. Rochester and Rochester Hills residents must bring printed paper voucher available for purchase from city.

There are three options available for electronics recycling for eligible residents.

  • SOCRRA’s Recycling Drop-off Center - by appointment only.

  • Ecycle in Southfield - no appointment, no lines.

  • ERG Environmental Services in Livonia - no appointment Monday- Friday. Also accepts household hazardous waste.

SOCRRA’s Electronic Recycling Drop-off program by appointment only . This service is available ONLY to residents of SOCRRA member communities as well as residents of Bingham Farms, City of Bloomfield Hills, Franklin, Rochester, and Rochester Hills.

The Drop-off Center is located at 995 Coolidge, Troy, MI (between 14 Mile and Maple).

Residency is verified by attendant and masks are required.

Rochester and Rochester Hills residents must bring printed paper voucher available for purchase from city.

Procedure:

  • No appointments or lines!

  • Go to warehouse door on south side of building (next to Arby’s), place electronics in bin or on ground if they are large. Ring doorbell for assistance with heavy items.

  • Must be resident of a SOCRRA community, or a resident of one of the communities that have made previous arrangements with SOCRRA: Bingham Farms, the City of Bloomfield Hills or Franklin Village, Rochester, and Rochester Hills. Rochester and Rochester Hills residents must bring printed paper voucher available for purchase from city.

Procedure:

  • No appointment or lines!

  • Enter off Industrial Road and use visitor entrance.

  • Must have ID showing residency from a SOCRRA community, Bingham Farms, the City of Bloomfield Hills or Franklin Village or printed paper voucher for Rochester and Rochester Hills residents -- purchase from city.

  • Ring doorbell and return to your car. The attendant with PPE will unload your items for you

 You are responsible for removing any sensitive or personal information from hard drives, etc.  SOCRRA does not provide this service.
